I have some cuts on my arm, and i didnt realise till this morning that they are quite deep, one of them isnt closed and they seems to be a black circle round one.

Now I am at work and my gp is about 30 mins away I wont get an appointment today, but to me i dont think a&e is either, I live in scotland so not sure where I could go to get it sorted?

Do you mean you don't know if its serious enough for A&E? could you pop into a pharmacy and let them have a look? Or is there a walk in centre anywhere near your work?

LittleMarshmallow · 01/03/2010 11:43

i dont know if there is a walk in center, how would i find out ? i tried google but it only brought up the ones in england

it isnt serious enough for a&e as there is no blood gushing or anything and the wounds are a couple of days old

How can you 'not realise' that you've got deep open wounds? Doctors will always see people on an emergency basis and A&E is the best place if your doctor can't see you.

Are you doing them yourself? I ma not judging, but like chil said, it is extraordianry that you can have them and not realise.
If there is no sign of infection, I think I'd just cover them with plasters and work out how/why they happened.

A chemist will be able to tell you if there is a walk in centre nearby - could you phone one from work?

I don't know what the black circle means, but it could be an infection, I think you should see someone - does your GP have a practice nurse, they might fit you in, but I agree with Chil, your Dr. should see you if you have an open wound and possible infection.

I called my gp but she cant see me till thurs, so I am going to try the chemist this afternoon.

And no i didnt realise that the wounds were that deep because the area was covered it wasnt till i checked i realised how deep they are.
