Steam inhalations and scalp massage (including the top of the neck) can be helpful, and are perfectly safe in pregnancy.

While I was bfing ds2,I develped a roaring sound in one ear, that only happened when I changed the angle of my head. It was like the roaring of waves. quite nice, really. It went on for a couple of months, but yoou nknow hwo it is - you never have the time to go to the drs for yourself. So one day when I made an appt for a dc, I tagged one on for myself. Dr said I had fluid in my middle ear, and prescribed a steroid spray that I had to puff up my nose. It worked. I quite missed the sound of the waves in my head, but certainly didn't miss the unpleasant pressure.
