Anyone get preggars with the coil in?

I was just wondering if anyone has fallen pregnant whilst having the coil in. I've had it fitted but just wondered whether there are many people out there that have ended up with "surprises"

My friend had an ectopic pregnancy while she had a coil in. I think she was fairly ill-advised to delay seeing her gp until she had been bleeding continuously for 4 weeks though.

Another friend thinks the coil is v dangerous and bad news so didn't have one. She got pg too.

Yes, I did. Twice. Had a miscarriage both times.

Think it is rather common.

ooh blimey. I thought the stats were that it was pretty good protection. Maybe need belt and braces approach in that case

It is pretty good protection Mgogo. But no method is 100% foolproof, even vasectomy as the tubes can spontaneously knit back together.

My Mum did, it only came out again when she gave birth to me and my Twin Sister!
