DDs are 3 and 1 and asleep. DH away. No family nearby.

I have had a cough for two weeks. Two days ago I developed a strange pain in my mid back. I thought I had pulled a muscle from coughing. Today the pain is worse and I have a fever of 39.5. I am soooo cold even under three divers with a hot waterbottle and heating on. I am shivering so much I can hardly hold my phone to type. I am coughing more but no other symptoms.

Something feels wrong but I am prone to dramatising. I am scared I will get iller in the night and if the kids wake I will be incapable of helping. I cld call local friends to help but it wld be a huge ask and most unlike me. Not even sure what kind of help I think I need.

I might be fine. Wld you call the friends or wait and see if things get worse (which cld be middle of the night),

Oh gosh Aubergines, that's awful, as FA says, no fun individually, let alone together.
Here's hoping the AB's kick in soon. Is your DH back anytime soon?

TotalChaos · 27/02/2010 18:23

very glad you have been and got checked out as you really are quite poorly. hope the abs kick in soon.

Chest infection AND mastitis - you poor thing!

Hope the antibiotics kick in soon for you.

They should start to work a bit in 3 days - if not then get back to docs for different ones and ask for a sample (of phlegm) to be checked.

OUCH! Have had chest infections, and also mastitis, but never at the same time! Poor you! I hope you are taking it easy and resting. And that you feel better soon.

Aubergines · 28/02/2010 10:51

Just to let you know DH is back so disaster averted. The mastitis is v unwelcome. DD2 is 14 months and I was just dropping her last feed in preparation for a work trip away. Have had to reinstate the feed (and more) to unblock the mastitis. I reckon I got it because the other infection had already taken hold and my body had no resources to fight it. Oh well. Onwards and upwards (touch wood!).
