How often do you get a stomach bug?

My dc get them more often than me (not surprising).

When they get something, I don't always catch it.

Is that the same for you? What about dh?

I think for me when I had my first DS I'd always catch what he caught because I'd be in the firing line of the germs. DH didn't always catch it and if he did he'd always be the last one! (And it goes without saying that he'd always have it 'worse' than me.)

Now we don't always all get the bugs (there are five of us now). The last bug I caught, gave to DH and the two DSs were fine (I was pregnant with DS3)! That was odd!

But even when one of the DSs gets a bug and I catch it, nowadays I tend to get much milder symptoms: often only a feeling of unsettled stomach and unwellness. I wonder if my immune system has built up over the six years since DS1 was born? The same goes for colds. I've only had two colds since September.

Almost always get it if one of the kids has it. I have a weakish stomach though.

With one in Y2 and one in reception we are still averaging 1-2 episodes a year. Hoping this will start to fall soon.

I have had a stomach bug maybe once in living memory. Kids once too. DH never since I have been with him (15 years).
We do however, get every cold going....

Having said that ds1 was complaining of stomach ache this morning, but I packed him off to school anyway, because sadly, this is a weekly occurance (he hates school)
