A strange antibiotic query

Have been prescribed a course of antibiotics for chronic sinusitis. I only started them yesterday, then DH and I caught the vomitng bug from our sons last night.

I'm in a dilemma because I want to complete the course and get better for my son's birthdays this weekend, but I can't keep any food down, which I need before taking a pill.

I took one earlier after some toast but threw it up again. DH now suggests taking it (yikes) anally. Is this possible?

I don't think so unless the antibiotics are specially designed to be inserted that way. The coating on the pills maybe designed to be absorbed in a certain part of your gut. It will say on/in the packet if they are to be taken orally.
I think you'll just have to wait until the bug is over before you start taking the antibiotics. Have you tried irrigating your nose with saline solution. There was a thread on here the other day about the neti pot and nasal irrigation. Saline irrigation helped me with terrible sinus problems so I didn't have to use the antibiotics. It might help as a short term measure. Taking antibiotics on an upset stomach is only going to make you feel sicker probably. Hope you get better soon.
