I've got antenatal piles.

Please tell me there's something I can do about it? I've never suffered from them before and they itch and ache and it feels like there's a pencil stuck up my bum.

Any tricks very welcome!

Anusol available over thr counter can help. Homeopathic remedy hammamelis in 30c, from good health food and some pharmacies. A bath can help ease the discomfort as can ice. If they get really bad and you've tried the over the counter options, there is something stonger with a local anesthetic available on prescription that is a life saver if the circumstances require!!

Anusol H - thats the one with hydrocortisone in it - is far more effective than plain Anusol.

If they're still bad, ask your GP for some suppositories...I had some great ones, worked really well. Sympathies, I do remember that part of being pg

Also very important to avoid constipation which will make them worse. Dry plenty and lots of fruit & veg. I particularly recommend kiwi fruit which seem to have magical powers when you're bunged up!

Have a look at this www.patient.co.uk/health/Haemorrhoids-(Piles).htm

Obviously get some good medication from doc asap but I agree try your best to aviod constipation at all costs.

Prune juice is good, lots of water, lots of fiber, oranges, orange juice, all bran/bran flakes, plenty veg etc etc.

Hope they bugger off soon, you have my sympathies.

Obviously I meant "drink" not "dry" - medical Freudian slip!
