Food poisoning in early pregnancy, pls reassure me!

I am 9w5d pregnant and have just had bad food poisoning which lasted 40h. Went to doc after about 24h in which I couldn't keep neither water nor food down, shivering cold and severe stomach cramps. Was put on IV drip and am feeling markedly better now. Still waiting for blood and stool results to tell me what exactly I had.

Saw the baby moving yday at doctor's but I am so worried I've harmed it by eating something dodgy. I think it was a panna cotta which contains eggs (didn't know that, I'm a dork).

Please reassure me, I am going mad.

I had severe food poisoning with my first - he is a beautiful perfectly formed 3.4 year old now.

Relax. The worst thing you can do now is worry on top of it. You didn't know, now you do - you won't do it again. I hope your pregnancy goes well for the remainder!

Thanks eggontoast. Doctor said she thinks it might be Norovirus. But no one else in my family (dd and DH is sick).

Will try and wait for results. Hmmm...

I would allow yourself a reasonable amount of time per day to worry (bearing in mind it will do no good at all) and worry for said time. Then move onto forgetting about it and enjoy pregnancy.
