Sick note or not sick note?

I fainted on weekend, gashed my forehead and bruised my face. I know it will heal in time, albeit leave a scar about an inch long, and the bruising may take ages to fully appear and disappear.. I have taken a week off as still felt shaky and stitches due out at end of week (3,bizarre.)

Honestly, I'm self conscious re the cut (office of 100 people, no doubt sniggering as I have a rep as a klutz), and some of my job is meeting clients.

Should I ask for a sick note on Friday, for another week at home?

Oh and the jokey text from a colleague about how everyone was asking if I'd been pushed by DH... well....pretty hurtful.

get a sick note love if you still feel rough, but you'll still have to face the teasing when you get back to work if there are stitches there.

Most important though is to figure out why it happened... are you stressed, not sleeping enough, sick? not eating properly? worried about work or relationship.. etc. use the time off to have a damn good think about things. Sounds like a sign telling you to slow down or something to me.

You also sound overly worried about your workmates teasing.... can you talk it over with DH or a close friend? hope you feel better soon x

Thanks Lauree
My DH is fantastic and has said he's fine with any way i feel. I'm seeing Gp tomorrow- will ask how long estimated time for bruises to come out and go? Basically a black eye and a yellow forehead! The cut is an inch long and I do think it'll look better when the stitches come out- I can tell it is healing slowly.

DH took me away for weekend- v romantic until said incident. No issue other than slightly dodgy stomach, too hot bath and blood pressure drop when i came out. (Not allowed to bathe unaccompanied now!)

I'm putting colleagues under pressure with my absence, but at same time think that company are likely concerned if I'm not up to my normal speed and have a face blotchy with bruises. Probably need to speak to a close colleague/ friend at work to ensure I'm not blowing this out of proportion.
