Periods, heaviness therof, around menopause (tmi alert!!)

I've been recently diagnosed with premature menopause, and as I hadn't had a period for 6 months now was feeling pretty blase that they were over - until last night.

I realised just as the children were going to bed that I had come on - about 8pm. Since then I have had to empty my mooncup 6 times and every time it has been full. I always had quite heavy periods but this is something else.

I don't have any more than usual cramps but some clots are quite big (tmi, I know).

Is there anything to worry about? It just seems like more than I have ever seen. I once joked that if I got another period it would be like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and I can tell you it is not far off (and I am in no way squeamish about blood etc ....)

Just wondered if I had anything to worry about?

no idea re menopause biz, but mine have been getting increasingly heavy for months now and am off for a scan in ooh 5 mins to see why.

same happened to me re uberperiod, it was nightmare but fortunately over in 12 hours so the end should be in sight.

Well as no-one thinks I am bleeding to death, I am going shopping ....

god weegie don't go shopping. i was trapped in an infant school for settling in on Big Blood Day. the poor tiny children with legs crossed outside the loo while i wrestled with mooncup...

stay at home with your own loo. scan says i am normal uteruswise so no explanation for me either.

I have been having heavy periods since I was 40 (now nearly 48) full moon cup by t he cupload too. I suggest you go to doctor they can test for menopause! The flooding only lasts me 24-48 hours, not ideal but at least I know it is going to end...

Good luck
