help - achy legs

Hi, I am a teacher and have just done my first day back at school after a fairly lazy half term and tonight my legs are aching like you wouldn't beleive!! I have had this before, but never this severe and the word "ache" doesn't really do justice to how they feel!!

Is this just my body's reaction to being on my feet again all day, or should I be more concerned? I don't seem to have symptoms of anything that crops to mind, eg DVT. I have taken ibuprofen but would appreciate any advice.

I don't really know much about this, but didn't want you to go unanswered.
It sounds as if it is just tiredness from going back to work.

A friend of mine had DVT in her leg and she was in very severe pain. But of course if you are worried, go to the GP.

When my legs ache, I use body shop peppermint gel for tired legs. Which helps. (I also find I'm more comfortable if I wear crocs. - but don't tell the fashion folk I said that)

I used to get this the first few days back on the school run after a break. I put it down to the legs not being used to the exercise.

Have suffered from restless leg in the past (usually whilst pregnant )and found that bananas help. Also neurofen , rubbing them hard and baths and hot water bottles.
