my cactus attacked me

and i think left a spine thing in my thumb. will it just come out on it's own? i picked it with a needle but can't locate it.

magnesium sulphate paste is good for drawing out thorns. You can get it at any chemist.

Some years ago a cactus fell (well, jumped, probably, evil spiny thing) on to my big toe.

I couldn't pick out the little spike it left in my toe. Eventually I noticed a funny bit at the base of my toenail, and the prickle "grew out" up my toenail over a period of about six months. Fascinating.

Here's hoping for similar excitement for you.

That reminds me of when I accidently put my hand in my cactus and as a reaction to the pain then put my fingers in my mouth. I ended up with spikes in my tongue and fingers. Boy did I yelp.
