Sexual Health - condoms question!

Okay, very blunt: boyfriend came back last night, was very horny and started getting into it. I'm usually quite sore at first and it gets better as it goes, but last night everything was screwing up. Main things though:

The condom started sliding off of him and was nearly off before I got annoyed, took it off and tried to carry on without. However the minute he 're-entered' it felt like somebody had put chilli down there and stayed that way for about half an hour.

So my questions:

  1. Where can we find slightly bigger condoms than durex elite.
  2. Do they put anything in durex elite on the penis side that I may have reacted with?!

I've also just realised that up until now we've been using durex gossamer ones, is there a big difference?

We usually use plain lube if we can find it in the heat of the moment too.

Sounds like he isn't putting it on properly tbh.

Lube is good, but if you're sore are you maybe allergic to the latex? Try a non-latex variety? Trojan Supra might fit better.

SpicedGerkin: I thought maybe that as he never used condoms until recently, so he has difficulties sometimes But it seems a bit too tight and short. About an inch from his base and a few millimetres too tight. I don't really remember how they looked on guys I've been with before?

OldLady: I'm usually sore without condoms as well but I'm pretty sure thats dryness, after I get into it it feels better or after we lube it We were thinking of using non-latex ones from now to see if it makes any difference though. I'm just wondering if there was something from the condom still on his penis when we tried to get back at it because that hurt as bad as heat lube does

We used to use these Pasante ones, normally found them at Lloyds Pharmacies. I had to go buy them though, DH was embarassed for some reason about buying 'Large'. They seemed to have just enough extra room to be a bit more comfortable. Now have some Durex XL and he doesn't find them as comfortable.

Are you sure he is just not putting iton correctly?
Also, yes they are lubricated though not inside I imagine!

On another note, do you need more foreplay until you are ready?

PorphyrophillicPixie · 18/02/2010 11:14

Purple: We always have plenty of fun beforehand but for some reason I never get wet enough. I have a bad sexual history which according to doc could be part of the cause (feeling uncomfortable, even if subconciously apparently!)

Could be putting it on wrong, though looking at the instructions (I made him read them when I realised he had no idea what to do) it seems like he is! Yesterday maybe not so as I wasn't in the room when he put it on, but normally it's fine and still slides up/doesn't reach the base, it just takes longer.

YanknCock: Thanks I'll see if it helps, if not, back to smaller ones, I suppose we'll experiment and see how things go.

I was wondering if they had spermicides in the condom but can't find info about it, if they have a liquid one I may've reacted? I've never felt anything like it before, genuinely felt like chilli whereas heat lube just burns iyswim?

They used to have spermicides, (non-oxy-summit) but it was discovered to be bad for lady bits. It's more like you were abraded before entry, if you're dry. Always, always use lube - Astroglide is good, but there are loads of others.

PorphyrophillicPixie · 18/02/2010 13:47

Hm. I honestly think that there was something about the condom, it is really something I've never experienced before and I'm used to the usual dryness pains. Will continue using lots of lube and experiment with other things

Thak you
