Is this the worst winter for illnesses?

I can't remember any as bad for us as a family or me individually! I have been I'll since the beginning of December with flu, chest infection, cold and now what feels like tonsilitis. I feel like crap and want to know

a) what's the best thing for sore throat - feels like massively swollen glands, very high up.

b) when am I going to feel human again?

Two and a half months!

Also DSs have permanent colds and I think DS2 may also have sore throat.

Apologies in advance to all if you who have proper illnesses, I am just moaning because I am tired, sore and fed up.

Ouch - sounds a tough few months for you. I hope you don't develop tonsillitis but if you do, hopefully the right medicaiton helps.

When I have a sore throat I find sucking ice/ice lollies helps numb it. Depending on wwhat is wrong I often rely on honey/lemon to sooothe.

Might be worth getting yourself checked out, if you are run down and picking up infections.

Thanks Kesiahopes, I know I'm just moaning but I am so fed up of feeling like this. My throat is incredibly painful not like a normal lower sore throat, it almost feels like I am being grabbed right under my jaw line and now my ears are starting to hurt too.

I think the gp is sick of seeing me this winter to be honest!

I have been the same this winter. Virus after virus after virus. Really debilitating ones. On the rare occassion it's not me then DH or the DCs are ill. But usually it's me. I have had to cancel so many social engagements that I am too embarrassed to make plans anymore.

Sorry, no helpful advice but just wanted to wallow with you.

Feel free to wallow Aubergines, it makes me feel better knowing it's not just me!

People get tired of hearing it after a while don't they?!
