My Dh had an ECG at work yesterday, All went well, or so he thought.
I then got a call from them ,as an answer machine message , saying" This is a message for Mr Flossie. You need to see the doctor straight away . Please call back"
I am rather mad that they let a message like that TBH, but more concerned about whether it is a symptom of something bad.
I do not want to google as it will scare me too much.
His Dad died very suddenly from ischemic heart disease.

ask your Gp's secretary to send an urgent request.....thats ridiculous. Are you on this stupid choose and book system or can your surgery deal direct with the hospital?

flossie64 · 22/02/2010 10:24

Alypaly- thanks for that tip ,but DH is in the Forces ,they don't have a normal GP ,IYSWIM. They go to the medical officer at work. So there is no way to rush it.
We can't afford to go private as I have got a back problem ,for which we are in the private system and the has cost ££££ already

surely if he is in the forces,it is up to his MO to make sure that he is fit for duty. If they have ascertained that ther is a possible problem ,you would think they would want to sort it ASAP wouldnt you?

flossie64 · 22/02/2010 15:34

alypaly- Yes you would, wouldn't you
The thing is he doing a desk job at present, so he is fit to do that. Its just frustrating, He has the rest of his medical next week ,so we will see what happens then.

update - Dh finally was told yesterday they have now sent his referral away to the specialist- only 3 weeks since he was told about the rpoblem
God only knows when he will see them now, as originally they said 2-3 months anyway.
I just hope nothing happens in the meantime-I still feel nervous about it all.

What I said on Thur 11th -I take it back ,they phoned him on Fri 26th to tell him they were just posting the letter then thats nesarly 6 weeks since they told him he needed an appointment.
A total disgrace, I'm sure you would all agree.
