had a smear on friday and the nurse commented that my labia was swollun. Advised me to get checked by a dr - appointment on frid but said it could be normal for me.Nothing hurts but can't say what's normal or not - it's not something i generally check out, any idea what if anything it could be?

You could have a blockage in one of the glands. There's a condition called a 'Bartholin Cyst' that can result in a small lump or swelling, for example. Good luck

There was a thread on this recently. Small lumps can mean little cysts. But generally swollen can just mean sensitive. I would try some vagisil or whatever it's called, if it doesn't hurt. Then see what the doc says. I can't use panty liners/pads - dunno whether its the paper they're made of but just seems to cause a reaction (then again they are revolting things!).

hi, thank you both for your replies, I must admit i wasn't paying too much attention to what the nurse was sayingas she was attempting to do the smear for the 3rd time and i was nearly on the ceiling!!, will see what the dr says but like i said it's not sore so that much be a good sign hopefully, thanks again
