just appeared over the last couple of days - a huge red lump has appeared on my left boob, doesnt appear to be a spot, just a red lumpy swelling, doesnt really hurt. quite unsightly though. i work at my own GPs practice so didnt fancy swanning in and saying " blimey doc, get a load of this" whilst flashing my tits.

im putting germaline on it. but its not really doing anything....showed DH and he helpfully said he hasnt seen them in that long he couldnt tell if anything was wrong

so

any ideas? do cysts go red and lumpy? could it be a cyst do you think? its getting rather mahoosive and is going to take over quite soon.

My DH has 4 nipples (they don't look like nipples though and he's had them since birth). They are situated in the middle of his ribs, one either side about 4 inches under his normal nipples. They are only very slightly risen bumps and so look like moles really. Nobody has ever noticed and he isn't bothered in the slightest.
If it's only just appeared I reckon it's more likely to be a cyst/lump and so you should DEFO get it checked out just in case.

go to the doctor

i cant flash my tits at my bosses, sorry.

my third nipple comparison was a feeble attempt at humour. i did say feeble.

Go and see another doctor? Elsewhere?

ThatVikRinA22 · 13/02/2010 18:10

id have to be registered with them for them to see me.

if it doesnt sort itself out ill obviously have to see one of our gps but i still think it could be a bit awkward!

im really not looking forward to smear time...

I think you need to register elsewhere NOW so that should something else like this happen, you are not afraid to see your GP...it's essential you can trust them and feel as comfortable as possible about embarrassing stuff iyswim. So ideally not colleagues!

I don't know what it is but yes I guess it could be a cyst, that's got infected somehow...sounds a bit quick to be anything worse...I think you need to see someone though, if it is a sebaceous cyst they need draining and packing properly to avoid recurrence...sorry.

..unless you have recently returned from a tropical holiday, in which case it is liable to burst within hours to release several thousand tiny spiders.

not really.

ThatVikRinA22 · 13/02/2010 21:49

thanks for that FA!

i really like my gps and cant move again as i moved from the only other surgery in town when they mis diagnosed my DS meningitis 4 times which left him critically ill. so not going back to them either.

seriously if i had to see one of our gp's i would. but ill see what happens to the red blob for a few days first.

could it be a blind boil?

whomovedmychocolate · 13/02/2010 21:53

Out of hours service. If it's getting worse. I had a cyst which came up like that. Went septic in a day, was hospitalised and having surgery the following day. GO TO THE DOCTOR - ANY DOCTOR. You can register as a temp patient anyway - you must know this!

Flightattendant · 13/02/2010 21:59

CRIKEY!

Listen to WMMC then...would hate you to get really poorly.

KurriKurri · 13/02/2010 22:24

Is there a walk in centre near you? - some of them open on sundays.

ThatVikRinA22 · 13/02/2010 22:29

ok, no walk in centres but i will see a gp on monday when i go to work, if its no better. i feel ok and its not hurting, but ill get some advice - promise! even i have to describe it to the doc or flash my tits to the nurse and she can tell em what it looks like!
