Vitamins/supplements for skin

I'm in desperate need of help. For the last 18 months my skin has been terrible. I don't get large cyst type spots but loads of pimples and blackheads on my face and bigger spots on my chest and back. I've tried a couple of antibiotic creams from the doctor but had no luck.

I've read a few things that suggest essential fatty acids are beneficial to skin. I'm a bit confused by omega 3, essential fats etc. Can you get essential fat supplements or do I just need to eat more nuts and olive oil etc? What sort of dosage of omega 3 is recommended?

Has anyone had any success using supplements to improve their skin?

Zinc is good for skin and hair-I've been taking them for 5 days now and I'm noticing a improvement in my skin already (I take the Wassen Zinc with C & B vits).

I've read vit A is also good too.
