i gave birth 3weeks ago today by c-section, before pregnancy i was on the microgynon pill, i have up to 5months worth left. i read on the leaflet that came with it i should start taking it again 21days after birth. i asked my midwife about it, she wasnt interested, she just said see your doctor, i asked my health visitor and she said, if the date is ok, she doesnt see why not but she'd wait until i have my six week check up as the doctor may change my pill or i might want to go on a different form on contraception. i know i want to go back on the pill and i dont see why the doctor would change my pill, im not breast feeding. i dont want to wait that long as i want to go straight back on it. should i start taking it today?
also i know the standard advice is to wait 6weeks to start sexual intercourse again but can you start it earlier? the cut from the c-section has scabbed over now, im not in any pain, my bleeding has stopped completely. babycenter said if your not bleeding bright red, your nearly completely healed, so surely its safe now (if your using contraception that is)
