Sudden gum problem, scared all my teeth will fall out or something

Ok, so my teeth and gums have always been pretty fine. Only ever had one tiny filling and thats it.

I don't pay for dental treatment and a check up always seemed to include a quick scrape or my teeth, but they won't do this at a check up anymore, they just advise a trip to the hygienist which at £35 i've not been able to afford yet.

Last week I got a new toothbrush and my gums started bleeding. After a few days of use I couldn't stand it anymore, the bristles were just too harsh, and so I got another brush with a much better head.

However the gum below my bottom front teeth is now swollen and feels a bit bruised. The bleeding has decreased but I am worried that there is now something going on.

I cannot afford a trip to the hygienist at the mo but I have enough points on my boots card to buy some of that Corsodyl mouthwash and their toothpaste. Will that help until I can save up the money for the hygienist ???

Corsodyl is well proven but it will stain your teeth so you will need a professional clean. Maybe you just traumatised the gum with an unfortunate choose of brush?

Oh, I didn't know that about the corsodyl

I am hoping that like you said, it is just because of the brush I was using.
