Spotting while breastfeeding

Hi, my baby was born 12 weeks ago and i had bleeding for 8 weeks. Then 10 days ago i had some light brown spotting for 2 days. Today i have started spotting again but this time it looks like fresh blood. I am exclusively breastfeeding my baby so didn't think it could be a period. Has anyone else experienced spotting while breastfeeding.

Sorry to pester but is there anyone that can advise - getting a bit worried.

Well if you're worried definitely get it checked out, but unfortunately for you it could be a period. I exclusively breastfed (every 1-2 hours) and still had my first period when ds was 12 weeks old.

Because of the previous spotting/long bleeding post partum I'd probably get it checked out to set your mind at rest.
