Yank - you do make me laugh - I love tuna!

Hells - well dd is 6 months old and I didn't gain masses with her as was v v sick. But its nice to be in my old size clothes. Although mums at school keep double taking as since ds1 started there I've pretty much been pregnant or just getting over having a baby .

I do still need to tone up though - but that means exercise which I struggle with from a childcare perspective. Sazzles I am in awe of all the running etc you do on top of home/children/work!

Welcome to galway - thats a very good start.

I had steak and salad for dinner - was yummy.

Oh and Hells am just perusing the cake book you used - which ones have you made? (Red velvet chocolate heartache)

Am still on mouse alert - keep imagining I'm seeing them everywhere - shudder.

hellsbelles · 03/02/2010 19:48

Oh Tracey - i know what the mouse thing is like. We used to baracade ourselves in our bedroom and put towels over the gaps in teh door!

I made the chocolate heartache cake (I think that is what is called - book is currenlty being borrowed by a friend!)...it's the one aubergine, ground almonds and honey in it (along with a lot of chocolate ) - it looks like a chocolate torte

I thought it was yummy and even DS who was aware it had aubergine in it - loved it.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 03/02/2010 19:49

Hello Galway. I love it there and Co Clare.

Lost 1.5 lbs today, toast for supper as that is all I can face.

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 03/02/2010 19:53

Would love to delegate but there is no one to delegate to. ds just eating supper and have made the moon. just need to wait for the main cake to cool enough to jam and ice. Going to put banners and balloons up. Needless to say ds is very excited. Right now i want my bed.

Lizzy - how much snow do you have. need to be in oldham tomo, so a bit concerned

Welcome galway

FB - you're a tough cookie and will get there in the end. Until then there are wise words freely available. It is just a return of the favours you have done with wise words when we have needed it.

VinegarTits · 03/02/2010 19:55

Why are you shit FB, well at least your still smiling

i am off to bed, telly is shite so going to watch last nights episode of Shameless in bed

catch up with you all tomorrow

Lizzylou · 03/02/2010 20:01

DEM< not that much snow, it just fell quite quickly, it has stopped now. The roads were lethal and if it is as freezing as this morning, we've no chance of making it up the hill.
I'm supposed to be in Liverpool tomorrow morning for a meeting, just my luck, new clients and I may well be snowed in! Not just that it's the logistics of getting kids to school/CM and then getting myself to Liverpool.....

Ah well, can't be helped!

DH just tried and got the car up the hill and failed (his got up OK, but it is heavier) so we may be marooned.

Galway, I visited Galway when I was 21 (so, just last year ), lovely place, lovely people. My Grandfather was from Cavan so we were visiting relatives and having a little explore.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 03/02/2010 20:19

Hey Galway...lovely to have you here and I hope you stay around. We do chat a lot and it can be hard to keep up. But there are some solid gold hearts on here and whilst healthier eating, and for many of us weight loss, is the reason we are here, there is a great sense of group 'nurturing' and support so if you do stay, we take on board all the stuff that puts in the place where we get food issues.

So if boredom and depression are issues, you can request hugs, shakes or arse kicking as you best need.

My tantrum was fairly moderate but DS is a voracious spender and to be honest was behaving like a toddler, and I was trying to have a nice Mum and Son afternoon, so I probably over reacted a little, but he chilled very quickly and we had coffee and cake a lovely afternoon. He is a star really.

No mice here, but a rat lives in my compost bin in the garden and the miserable little fecker eats most of it. I have been filling it for nearly 3 yrs (it is a big one from the council) and it never gets more than half full! He must be a vegetarian though because I am very careful what I put in.

FB. if you call yourself shit I will have to come down and Hug you and I will bring my space hopper.....

iggi999 · 03/02/2010 20:42

Hi Mits, wanted to see more pictures as the one-I-have-as-screensaver was being appreciated by my first years today when I had the data projector connected. Ok, you maybe weren't aiming at impressing a bunch of 12 year olds, but they are savvy 12 year olds and very hard to please!

iggi999 · 03/02/2010 20:44

Right, arse needing to be kicked.. I've now had over a week of lying on sofa feeling sorry for self and eating multiple ice creams (and i do mean multiple) every night and I need someone to tell me to get up and go do some Rosemary Conley or something.

YanknCock · 03/02/2010 20:51

Sazz, just watch out for your DH to come back chanting German lyrics. Mine was going around today singing 'Du, du hast, du hast mich'. Apparently it is a clever pun, but as neither of us speak German....

Lizzy, if you make it over to Liverpool you can wave as you pass Warrington.

Vinny, I loathe meetings too. One of the big reasons I don't want to go back to my job--two hour meeting every week, no agenda, no actions, no minutes, just mindless dithering and droning on, completely pointless. And apparently I overstepped some boundary by politely pointing out that this might not be the best use of everyone's time.

jetcatisfrozen · 03/02/2010 20:52

We have snow here too now Lizzy - did you send it

Mits, you always post such lovely words - cant wait to meet you in RL

Bella, hope you ok after car

Welcome Galway, yup it is fast moving

Well done Five

Vinny and BOF - i have give up trying to keep up, so apologies to all if i keep missing stuff - just RL takes over once in a while - plus my hour on the bike (yup, am up to an hour, 25km an hour steady pace - i realise that prob isnt a fast pace, but it bloomin kills me) means i cant sit and surf while watching enders

Hope you are keeping the 3 week curse at bay shiney!

iggi999 · 03/02/2010 20:53

I was told on a time-management course to never go to any meeting were you hadn't been given an agenda in advance.

iggi999 · 03/02/2010 20:53
YanknCock · 03/02/2010 20:55

Iggi, maybe not a kick up the arse so much as a gentle nudge! Part of treating yourself well is eating nice healthy food and not junk. Don't beat yourself up, you need moping time following a MC. Can you do something else nice for you, like buy some flowers, paint your toes, colour your hair?

iggi999 · 03/02/2010 20:58

Ah, you are too nice Yankn
Think the junk is starting to make me feel bad though, and I miss the exercise (did I just say that??)
Going to see friend tomorrow for cake and (I assume) some sympathy, which will be good I think.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 03/02/2010 21:00

Hi Iggi... I have started a profile but the link doesn't work as link as such. But if you want the proper web address I will do it tomorrow as I nearly asleep..

Jet thank-you....I might be a bit more confident if the girl in my head took over from the actual me IYSWIM.

DreamsInBinary · 03/02/2010 21:00

Would like to give you a THWACK, Iggi, but can't bring myself to, so you'll have to settle for a virtual basket of fresh fruit, a face pack and some expensive hair-mask stuff.

Gently remind yourself that you need energy (fruit & veg rather than ice-cream & fast foods) and that you can only feel better physically from a bit of fresh air and some light exercise.

If that doesn't work, perhaps a bit of traditional wedding panic?

wastingaway · 03/02/2010 21:06

Evening.

I had a big pile of scrambled eggs for tea and am suffering windily now. Was yum though.

Iggi, you actually want to do the exercise, so please treat yourself to the lovely Rosemary.
And enjoy seeing your friend tomorrow. I doubt she'd feed you cake while nagging ya!

It is, Shiney. Focus on June.

I have just rung someone from AdTrader about a York cross trainer and will prob buy it tomorrow in a pathetic attempt to put off proper exercise. Do home gyms/equipment actually work for anyone?

iggi999 · 03/02/2010 21:23

That sounds awful, poor wee soul. Vending machine assault seems inevitable in the circumstances.
Have Rosemary'd, feel bit more alert! Will still be in bed before Desperate Housewives though..

DreamsInBinary · 03/02/2010 21:25

Hi Galway. We have Scotland, Wales, North & South England (and bits in between) covered, but no-one from Ireland as far as I know. So you are our first .

Actually, I think we did, but she left

iggi999 · 03/02/2010 21:25

I have crosstrainer. Works a dream if (here's the important bit) you use it.
It's great to exercise without looking for your gym clothes, getting into the car etc.

Mits I have already found your website, thank

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 03/02/2010 21:26

It sounds similar to my always been bad knee as apposed to the wrote it off skating other knee which is affected by 'loose' and irratating knee cap. My knee did that lovely pop sound whilst walking up stairs. it is now double the size it was an hour ago. try soaking a bandage in witch hazel and wrapping around the knee. leave it up above hip and rested for about an hour then remove bandage. should reduce swelling and pain considerably - especially good as if it is it is growing pains and will happen on and off for ages so too much pain killers not good. get it checked out by the doc. Bit that nurse didnt xray as i agree that it could be cartilage, it might depend on the range of movement as i think there is a difference between this patella cho..... cantfuckingremembermedicalname and cartilage injury.

Dont suppose that helps dd much though. tis absolute agony on a bad day. And i find when it is sore already i must never run or even bounce up the stairs. it always ends in tears. got me out of years of pe at school that.

Going to head to bed. Am an hour later then intended but will have to find the painkillers tonight. Catch ya monday now probably. unless i pop in during the night whilst sensibleones are asleep.
