Where to get eyes tested

I've realised I really ought to get my eyes tested, I've not had it done in years. From MN experience, so you get better checks somewhere bigger and apparently more "technological" (but all the staff are 12) like Boots or Vision Express, or a little local low-tech, but probably years of experience opticians.

Probably not very helpful but you can't judge an optometrist by where they work, I consider myself wonderful{wink]and have worked in both specsavers and independent opticians.
I really think your best bet is to ask friends who wear specs or contact lenses to recommend their optician if they were happy with them.
