Sounds yummy Lizzy, love juices.

Lizzy, Trills, that is part of the question though, do I need net curtains?

Lizzylou · 01/02/2010 12:58

Wasting, have just had an apple, celery, brocolli, lime and pineapple one, it is lovely and very sweet.
Makes me feel all virtuous, like Trills don't feel hungry (feel full and bloated today) so the juices are easy to do, not so much when you are ravenous to be honest.

Will have a look at said nets thread now.

Sazz - they are 7 but thanks so much for the ideas - I think they would work very well (and not too tricky for my domestically challenged self!)

traceybath · 01/02/2010 14:11

Hells - do you have Nigella's 'how to eat' - I basically do what she says in that for party food.

Did go to one party where they basically just did yummy sausages in bread rolls and then cake which went down very well.

For DS's last party I did:

  • sausages cut up
  • red pepper, cucumber and carrots with hummous (the little pots)
  • marmite sandwiches
  • cheese sandwiches
  • fresh fruit
  • chocolate fingers
  • cheese and pineapple
  • crisps

Then made a lemon cake and raspberry victoria sponge for parents - god I am so poncetastic .

Alice - congratulations on 12 weeks - are you telling everyone now?

Jet - hope money stuff gets sorted soon.

hellsbelles · 01/02/2010 15:12

oh I do have that Tracey - didn't realise it had a section for that! will look now. Thank you and Sazz...between you I'm sorted

hellsbelles · 01/02/2010 15:18

Bella - are you still after Uggs? They have a lot in stock now at my-wardrobe I they are very expensive but I think that's cause they are the real deal!

NormaSknockers · 01/02/2010 15:20

Bloody hell you girls could talk the hind leg off a donkey

DH is a serious grump today, he's had a tough few days at work & it's been a bit emotional for him so I know it's tough going but blimey he's like Victor Meldrew today!

bellavita · 01/02/2010 15:42

Hello ladies.

Thanks for that link Hells, but I wanted the Cardy Uggs (which are slightly cheaper than the Bailey Button Ones)

Just posted on your net curtain thread Wasting (my mother has them and I am not a huge fan).

Jet - hope your money is sorted soon

I know it is near the end of the day Alice, but hope your appointment went well.

My brownies went down a storm.... I was supposed to be in a brownie bake off with a teacher who said no one could make brownies better than her and guess what she did not make any and then admitted she was crap at baking and didn't have time. So I won by default.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 01/02/2010 15:48

DD's party we did, sauseages, mashed potato and beans.

NormaSknockers · 01/02/2010 15:50

You still one though Bella way to go

Fanny sounds like my kind of party food! A wedding we went to last year had bangers & mash for their sit down meal (poshly displayed of course) & it went down a treat!

BitOfFun · 01/02/2010 16:07

Hi all- sorry that I've missed so much, I will catch up later hopefully. Just popping in to say I'm horribly poorly with a sore throat and banging headache and am about to curl up on the couch for the rest of the day.

Any virtual lemsips gratefully accepted

Lizzylou · 01/02/2010 16:07

Hells, Pizza and Garlic bread?

Bella, I don't doubt you'd beat most people in a bake off. Bring some brownies to Manchester!

Having a Carpet picnic/Teddy Bears picnic (DS1 feels too old to be associated with Teddy Bears, until bedtime, that is ) with the boys this evening. They are busy making telescopes out of loo rolls. Why do we buy them toys??

Lizzylou · 01/02/2010 16:10

Norma, hope your DH destresses and gets out of the grumps. DH has a bout of manflu, cause I think by being majorly stressed about work stuff.

Good job I never get stressed, eh?

Lizzylou · 01/02/2010 16:11

Aw Bof, hope you feel better soon.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 01/02/2010 16:22

Aw BoF, you will be run down from all your decorating and fumes.

Poor DH Norma, will it be over soon?

I am a qualified judge of Cakes Bella so if you need a 2nd opinion.... (I am sure one would fit very nicely into one of those little boxes you get for posting wedding cake).

I have spent much of the day cuddling DD. So only got done what I had to do. I can't get used to DS wandering in and out with his mates yet. Is it normal? It feels like Grand Central Station sometimes. Nice in a sort of 'Arrgghh there are aliens in my house sort of way'..

NormaSknockers · 01/02/2010 16:24

Poor BOF

Lizzy that sounds fab, bet they'll love that! DD asked for a trolley tea so might do that...we'll see! DH has headed off to work now so less grumpyness in the house In fairness it was an awful job so I do understand him being grumpy just couldn't do much to help him!

NormaSknockers · 01/02/2010 16:28

Mitts - the man in question went to court today & will remain in custody until his sentancing but DH is still having to deal with the paperwork & keep up a police presence to keep peoples minds at ease.

@ aliens in your house! Poor DD, she not feeling well or just wanted mummy cuddles?

hellsbelles · 01/02/2010 16:34

BOF - agree with Lizzy

Mitts - sausage and mash sounds yum - but I'm renting out a hall thingy and I'm not sure the kitchen is up to much.

Just spent the last half an hour attempting to unload the shopping but DD was insisting on helping as only a 1 year old can. Dive bombing the bread, piercing any pots she could find and locating every thing that could be dangerous with the precision of a heat seaking missle. I'm knackered. But have been good on the food front. Snacked on cheese.

My jeans are actually feeling a little loose now!

NormaSknockers · 01/02/2010 16:41

Hoorah for loose jeans

bellavita · 01/02/2010 16:46

Oh BofF - hope you get better soon >

I feel really guilty now (after Mitts saying she had kept DD at home) - DS1 got up this morning not too well with a cold and he said his nose was burning inside. I sent him to school (without remembering to give him a paracetamol and a vicks nose thingy and a bottle of water ) - although he could have reminded me but was more interested in trying to find his i-pod that he had misplaced half an hour earlier. He had a very full day at school too. Football, guitar lesson and cookery. When he rang me at 4.10 to say he had got home he said to me "why did you send me to school mum?". He said the only thing he enjoyed was his guitar lesson and the bun making in cookery.
