under 5's vaccine does it include 5 yr olds?

does anyone know if the swine flu vaccine is inclusive of 5yr olds?

my son in 5yrs 2mths i have not received a leter for him to have it, my other son is 6yrs 4mths with asthma i checked with the nurse today who checked with a doctor for me and i got told he is not in the catogory to have it, i think he should have it so im going to insist he does when i phone tomorrow.

No, I think it is just Under 5s - aimed at the preschool age mainly as that is one of the risk groups.

I think you can have it done private if not in the risk group, not sure about on NHS unless there is a secpfic reason or nee.

I'm pretty sure it's not. I got a call about my boys who are 4 and 22months. However, none of my son's friend's mums had heard anything, and they've all turned 5 already.

lol thought as much but my friends son is having it tomorrow he 5 and 7mths just different gp's i suppose.

will just hope they dont catch it then

It depends on the cut off point your trust is applying I suspect. We've got a letter today for ds who has just turned 5 but the cut-off date was 31 Dec 09 so he's being offered it.

Where we are invitations are sent by the trust and then you contact the GP to arrange the vaccine, I don't think the GPs are actually deciding the catchment themselves.

My DS2 is 5 and I was told that it was for under-5s only at our surgery.
