Does taking norethisterone make you feel ill?

Sorry I know people have asked this before but for some reason my pooter won't let me log in so I can't search.

I have a coil and therefore cannot control my periods. Dr gave me norethisterone (sp?) to delay them. I am a bit funny about taking pills and don't like the look of the side effects (I seem prone to experiencing side effects eg with pill), but REALLY want to not have my period next weekend when we go away for DP's birthday.

Anyone have any experience of it? It looks like it is prescribed for some people to take quite a lot (treatment for endometriosis) rather than just a few days to delay period. Do you think there's less chance of getting side effects if you take it for only a short time?

I've taken it a few times and I've not had serious side effects apart from really sore boobs. Other people I know have reacted very badly to it immediately. If you react to progesterone based pills it's likely you will to Norethisterone, but if you're only taking it for a week or so it should be ok.

I always take it to adjust my cycle the month before I need it though, to avoid any nasty effects on holiday.
You will have the period from hell after stopping it though, especially with a coil.

In fact I took it 6 times last year to lengthen my cycle because I was down to every 20 days.
