Prolapsed Uterus - Ring Pessary & TTC - advice needed

Hi there

I have a prolapsed uterus which must have happened after I gave birth to DS 1 in 2003. I first noticed something was drastically wrong in 2006. Saw consultant shortly after. He fitted me with a ring pessary (1.25cm thick 77mm) as we had not completed our family and advised that I did not go for the op to repair it until we had. Which is fine.

Got pregnant in 2007 twice but miscarried.

We used to take the ring out when we had sex but after seeing a womens health physio she said there was no need - so now we don't which is a little bit wierd but fine.

No pregnancies since then although we are still trying.

Does anyone know if by leaving the ring in when we have sex be stopping sperm from getting into the right place?

Also - and I can't even believe I am asking this question because it sounds so rediculous - if I go swimming around my fertile time (and having sex so sperm would be present) - as I am sort of biggish down there would the sperm be washed out. Would it be advisable not to go swimming. God that sounds so silly!!

But any advice or to hear of similar experiences would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
