Receding gums.Scared and depressed. What are the options?

I am 36. My mum has no teeth since I can remember and I have developed the same problem; receding gums that are getting much worse very quickly with the roots of my teeth being quite clearly exposed now.

I have a dentist (the closest to work I could find) but I would like to know how to go about finding a real 'expert' in London and try to find out the cause and treat it as much as it is possible (if it is).
I am very sad about this and it is painful too.

Any help very much appreciated

Hello
There are lots of teeth and gum experts on here who should be able to help more - but I would say get your dentist to refer you to the Eastman hospital to get the experts on the case so as much can be done as early as poss.
I have big issues with my nashers and am only just getting over my fear of dentists to start sorting it out - it can be v depressing and debilitating so good for you for getting it sorted!

FnD,
Thank you very much for your response. Will ask the dentist to refer me. See what happens.
It is very depressing. Hope you are getting the support you need too.
