It's not clearing up!

My dd is nearly 1 year old and she has dry skin/eczema behind her knee and up a little. I have been to the doctor and so far they have prescribed Aqueous and now Aveeno cream but it does seem to be clearing up. Has anyone else got any suggestions??

it might just work with my dd, but i found the e45 mouse moisturizer really helps when her eczema flares up.

My DS was yesterday prescribed with Diprobase cream and a bath oil, Balneum, we used it yesterday and already there is a marked improvement. This was the first time we'd gone to the docs though, so DS's could be quite mild case?

At the mo we're using e45 cream and e45 bathbubble thingy, it's seem to work for us

Dd has dry skin. I bath her in oatmeal (put oatmeal in muslin cloth and swish round in water and then squeeze out into the water looks like shes bathing in milk like Cleopatra ). Also massage her with Olive oil with a little lavender oil in it just before she goes to bed. It is very messy but she loves it and now 'helps' by doing her tummy.

Would also like to hear any other tips people have tho.

Allergies? dairy?

I don't know how little the patch is, but both my boys had persistent small dry skin patches on their backs as babies. It disappeared by itself on DS1, and is almost gone in DS2 (now 13 months). I didn't do anything to make it go away. Health visitor called it infantile eczema, said it would probably get worse in teething episodes and otherwise disappear by itself by 2yo. She was right, it did go by itself.

Don't know if that helps...my theory was that anything I did was equally likely to make it worse, so am glad I did nothing.

Our ds had the same - behind knees and on chest/back a little. We changed washing powder to Surcare and it has 90% cleared up. Everyone is different but may be worth a go?!?
