painful periods after section

I had a section 4 months ago, my first period was very light and short, the next was very heavy and very painful for 2 days and the period I'm having now seems to be going the same way, it's so painful it wakes me up at night and the painkillers wear off after 4-6 hours. I never had period pain like this, could it be related to the section??
Also we were planning on getting pregnant again soon, is this a bad idea???

I don't know if it's section related of just post-birth in general, but I had terribly heavy, long and painful periods after dd1 (em section) and dts (planned section) . They lasted about a year and settle down a bit. I'm still heavier and in more pain that I was pre-children, but it's not as bad as it was.

Mine were worse, more painful and heavier at first. They settled down. I think perhaps it's just more sensitive in general down there post childbirth, in whatever way it happens. Many women say their periods are heavier and more painful after giving birth. Perhaps give it a couple more cycles and if it's not abating at all you could see a GP? I don't think it's unheard of though or anything to worry about usually. I found ovulation really hurt around my scar post em cs too.
