I only had surgery 3 months ago for small patches of endometriosis - never suffered from it before and only really had pain once a month or every couple of months always the day after my period and since the surgery so far so good no monthly pain.

Yesterday (a day after my period)I had a bout of excruitaging (sp!) pain, felt sick, faint and had to lie down, slept for 2 hours...just as before.

Im so, so upset as the last few months have been brilliant, no pain and a real relief.

Do I want another month and see what happens or go back to Dr's immediately

Sorry to hear that, dietqueen. The only rule with endo is that there's no rule. I once had a laparoscopy and the pain was back three days later, so fat lot of good that was.

I think if you went back now the average GP would just ask you to wait another month to see if the pain comes back then. A specialist gynaecologist would probably say that your pain was caused by endo, though. Sorry for the bad news.

Have you thought about going on the pill with no break (assuming you're not TTC)? I'm on Cerazette at the moment and haven't had a period for 7 months. Hasn't done much for me yet, but my endo pain is not so closely related to my cycle anyway. It sounds like it would help you a lot.

Wishing you all the best with it...

Its strange because I only got the pain ever other month the day after my period...comes out of the blue and wipes me out for a couple of hours then next day Im back to normal. When I went in to hosp for lapo/treatment I was told I had a really healthy womb and the endo was very small - just a few patches on one ovary.

Im wondering now if it is endo that causing the pain?

Im in 40's so dont really want to go on pill and am thinking well once every other month can I cope wiht it say with pain killers? The concultant did say it should be removed otherwise it could spread to other organs etc... Ive felt so well last 3 months then BAM!!!

I had endo and had the laser treatment. Got pregnant after having problems conceiving before this.

I didn't know that I had endo, they were looking for PCOS. Have always suffered with random pains though. Periods used to be very painful before I was pregnant. They are not anymore. I do have IBS and have so many different random pains I 'm not sure what is related to what tbh.

Is there anyway to describe what the endo pain is and how it makes you feel? I have been wondering if it is back but as I have a few different health problems, I find it hard to know whats what.

the pain comes suddenly and I mean suddenly no real warning signs all I know is it tends to happen the after I start my period.

Its as though my stomach is on fire, the pain is so intense that it makes me light headed, tingle and I feel as though I have to lie down before I fall down. After it subsides say 20mins or so it seems to wipe me out and I sleep for 2 hours or so.

Very scary and quite frightening. Feel a bit grogey later but next day absolutely fine.

Hi DQ I can totally relate

I would go back to your gynae. I am now on the pill back to back for 3 months, and have 2 appointments next month with gynae's: one at the hospital, and a private one. AM thinking they will both say the same thing: time for another laser lap. Ugh

When I am in pain I also get the tingling, must lie down before I fall down, then fall asleep thing. I also feel like I am floating, a totally surreal feeling, and my BP goes from a fairly normal range to below 90/60. I feel like I shut down, IYSWIM?

Anyway good luck.

Yes I also feel very strange, very light headed and wierd...hard to actually describe it in words. Oh and sometimes the pain feels as though its gone into my "bottom".

Im going to give it one more month then if the same happens will go back to Doc.

OMG, I get this too and thought it was all part of my IBS. Maybe its not.

dietqueen · 19/01/2010 17:14

Strangely Ive never had bad periods or heavy bleeding etc.. So Im worrying myself sick in case its something else - will give it another month
