Teenage chaffing inner thighs in heat - any tips how to avoid?

My poor 17 yr old Ds suffered terribly last year in Florida with an awful rash on his inner thighs/groin area which was very painful when walking. Any tips out there from DH's who have suffered this same condition on how to avoid/treat?

BIKER SHORTS work!!!

When I used to do road marches putting biker shorts under clothes worked. they are not hot, and stop the friction from the clothes

I get this sometimes and I am def female!

I put a little vaseline on the affected spot if I am going to do a lot of walking.

wash and dry carefully. if sore, make sure area gets regular doses of exposure to fresh air (erm, in private! not asking your 17yr old son to flash!!) that powder they put on the umbilical stump is great for sore sweaty areas - especially if a bit damp and inflamed.

DH gets this sometimes. Fitted boxer shorts definately prevent it. When shopping for them, ideally, look for smoother seams in the inner-thigh area (seams can mean more rubbing), and look for reasonably long ones - make sure they'll cover the bit that's getting chafed, even if they ride up a bit with walking.
