Am a bit worried. Found a lump next to the opening of my vigina last Friday. It started out small but got bigger. It is really uncomfortable and sore, struggle to sit.

I googled lump and it looks like it must be a cyst. I know a cyst is a watery lump.
But what I want to know is, must it always be removed by surgery or will it go away itself? Must I go to the doctor or can I wait to see my gynocologist on the 2nd of Feb?

I'm a bit scared, do I need to be? What is the chance that it can be cancer?

Keep calm..

  1. It is VERY unlikely to be any sort of cancer. But if that is a big worry for you, ring today and get a Drs appointment.
  1. If it is painful, and uncomfortable to sit, then why wait for for the Gynea appointment in Feb? If you see your GP soon, they may be able to drain the cyst, and remove the discomfort.
  1. If it is very painful, it is probably infected. If you see your GP ASAP you can get anti-biotics to hit the infection soon, whereas, if you wait the infection will take hold, be harder to clear up, and may get into your bloodstream, making you feel more ill.

Take a deep breath, ring for a Drs appointment. You know it's the sensible thing to do.

VERY unlikely to be a cancer. much more likely to be a cyst, or just a spot.

Go and see your GP, you may need antibiotics, and he/she can reassure you. don't wait until feb.

HTH, Cass.

Its most probably a Bartholin's Cyst

Sore (have had it myself) but treatable and not dangerous!
