I have heard recently that if your iron is low you get restless legs... ??

I would lather mine in lotion and put a pillow under them when laying in bed and that helped me a little when I was preggy with dd. The sensation of the cool lotion on them helped distract me from the need to 'move it move it I've got to Mmoooove it!'

I only got it when pg, but accidentaly (sp?) discovered that body brushing worked a treat. Use a natural bristle brush from toes to hip til it tingles. HTH.

Yes I read that they need tobe hot or cold!

Can´t have my legs out of bed with these temps!

But last night I was moving my legs almost all night!

I want a cure too. It doesn't keep me awake but does make my cat attack my ever moving feet and wake me up. Will try the body brushing and take more iron.

I've had this for about 10 years now. I just let them move. Does that mean I'm old?

Off to find a brush!

how did it go?

midnightexpress · 04/01/2010 13:38

Oh I had this when I was pg and it drove me spare. It's hideous. I heard that bananas were good - phosphorus or magnesium or something.

ihearthuckabees · 04/01/2010 13:57

Have had it for years - usually happens when I'm very tired, although it also happens if I get disturbed just as I'm dropping off to sleep.

It's totally annoying. I sympathise. Interesting about the iron (I tend to be borderline anaemic).

Magnesium or drinking tonic water for the quinine helps leg cramps.

Had it for a couple of nights and was up at 4 -doing ironing/reading as just couldn´t sleep!

Went back to bed at 7 when husband got up & slept until 9.30

Last night-nothing-no idea why it stopped-or why it started!
