Broken toe

I'm pretty sure I've broken my little toe. It happened a couple of days ago. I presume there's no point going to GP? The only slight worry I have is that it's sticking out at an angle now. This is so trivial and I'm slightly embarassed asking advice about it but I don't want a weird angled toe in the summer in lovely sandals

You could try strapping it to the toe next to it, I doubt docs will do anything.

I'm such a clumsy cow I break toes on a monthly basis!

found this

It's amazing how much it hurts isn't it? I'm limping like Long John Silver!! Do your toes heal in a normal straight line?

Thanks Heget, that's interesting. I have a worry of "bothering" GP's with triviality and only go if I'm seriously ill which is about never!! Maybe I'll pop in with my toe after reading that.

Nope, they're like a bag of smashed crabs! lol

Ooooo after reading that link, please ignore me completely and go to the doc! . And here's to think I was a first aid instructor too!

will go to the doc myself on my next toe break, which will probably only be a week or two away lol.

I know!

Dh says I have no spacial awareness, either that or the chairs, feet off the couch, walls etc kick me! (Its not me thats kicks them)

thornrose · 03/01/2010 01:24

I am fairly accident prone and walk into things all the time but it's the first time I've had an actual break lol!

I'm just used to the "crack" now .

Has the pain gone?

thornrose · 03/01/2010 01:48

Oh no, it's a constant annoying buzz of pain and it's tricky at night to get my foot in a good position for me to sleep. I'm pretty hardcore when it comes to pain so if it hurts me it really hurts!

Ouchy, hope it buggers off soon for you, have you taken anything for it?

blinks · 03/01/2010 01:57

gp will only send you to A&E or wherever has fracture management.

you might as well just go directly. twould save time.
