Senora, we have down loaded the photo and she has proudly shown it it to her grandma and grandpa. Lets hope she's ok at bedtime.

Thanks for you concern whymummy, spider bites weren't something I ever thought i'd ever have to deal with in spain. It's all good for the book hahaha!

lucy5 · 30/06/2005 16:24

Glad to hear it!

NB the things you really have to watch out for in Spain are centipedes. If you see one, don't touch it.

There are lots of snakes here too, but they're not common and good at hiding (much to DH's disappointment)

lucy5 · 30/06/2005 16:42

Ive seen a scorpion and have had a letter home about processionary caterpillars. luckily none of us have any phobias , except for dh who is a little bit wimpy about those big flying black bugs. I'm the chief bug catcher in our house.

lucy5 · 30/06/2005 18:42

lucy5 · 30/06/2005 19:44

i think of nothing else,i want to get a job here and also i was thinking of studying so i can teach english in spain too,i've just been on learndirect so i can do it from home, what you think?

lucy5 · 30/06/2005 20:11

What sort of teaching are you thinking of?

  1. tefl teaching in academies or private, usually rubbish money and unfriendly child hours. Often autonomo (sp) paper work and expensive,

2 Pgce in English and Spanish or either, would get you into the international school system, quite well paid in Spanish terms but often run by idiots.

3 Passing Spanish teachers exam when you get here, supposed to be quite hard but better hours and i've heard better pay. Would have to get any uk qualifications convalidated.
