Have you got a stuffy or runny nose? If so, it could be a "postnasal drip", meaning that catarghh is running down the back of the throat, so causing a sore throat. It would be worse in the morning because you have been lying down all night with the drip occuring all night.

Please try not to worry. It could all be part of the cold symptoms you have.

Are you feeling poorly, or the same? If you are feeling worse, then it's probably wise to visit the GP. Otherwise, it's mostlikely a long running horrid cold.

take some pseudofed and see if it will dry up the mucus. If you are a mouth breather as DS2 is at night, that will give you a sore throat too.
