can anyone share their experiences with me? I've sailed through my life with virtually no hormonal symptoms at all ever (nauseating, I know). HOWEVER since hitting my 40s I am suddenly completely at the mercy of my hormones for the whole month. I'm ratty, bitchy, emotional, hyper-sensitive and the periods themselves are so heavy that I've been having to take time off work. Am I normal?

yes I have heard that they get worse (periods and pmt) peri-menopausaly something to do with the hormones being at the peak? your're not alone believe me

are they getting more painful too?

no, there's still hardly any pain - just that funny dragging sensation and very heavy bleeding for 3 or 4 days. It's the hormonal stuff that's getting me down!

Good to know I'm not alone, though
