Shoulder pain can be referred pain from a problem in the abdomen - might be wind, but could be something else, worth calling NHS direct?

I have pain in my left arm now but have stopped feeling like I want to push. I have had stomach problems since having baby 3 but nothing really big other than bleeding which was polyps on the womb. Had them removed 3 months ago and check up next week to see if they were anything.

Is it your right shoulder? Right shoulder pain and a feeling of pressure plus stomach/abdo pain are all symptoms of gallstones. I also get pain in my left arm which apparently is linked to the oesophageal reflux caused by the gallbladder spasm.

The pain of a trapped gallstone is like nothing on earth (worse than all 3 of my labours) I have to crawl off somewhere and try and get as comfy as possible until it passes, but usually end up rolling around not knowing where/how to lie.

Last time DH dialled 999 and even they thought I was having a heart attack and did an ecg on the spot.

I totally understand wanting to be cuddled but not touched too. I usually want DH to sit with me.

If it is gallstones, the pain shouldn't last any longer than 6 hours. Although my attacks have never lasted longer than an hour. If it does go on longer than that, there may be signs of jaundice and you should definitely get checked over by a doctor.

The pain was in my left shoulder but everything had mostly eased off by bed time but I took ages to get to sleep. I woke up feeling sick and have a bit of pain in my stomach and feel like I need to pass a bowel movement but am so busy today just need to get on.

i would agree,it does sound like gallstones and they can be very common after giving birth.

But that was 4 year s ago!

I have been cleaning and tidying for 2-3 hours and feel really sick now. Best not clean anymore today.
