Have just been doing Christmas craft with boys, excuse me while I gnaw my own arm off.

Feeling very unfestive and mightily peed off with all crap family stuff, but trying to think about the real meaning of Christmas.....wine, champagne, mince pies and a good cheeseboard

Out with anger, in with love

And breathe........

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 15/12/2009 17:25

D'ya wanna come kick boxing with me Lizzy? I suggested we had a night where we could put photos on the punch bags . No questions asked.

I have made myself an iron rich fruitcake because I suspect my anaemia is a bit bad. Feel really physically crappy.

So a large piece of that, 5 Satsumas.
Toast and tomato soup. I think I have lost 3lb.
My back is killing me but I am alright if I don't sit down or sleep. Or carry anything. I can't even carry my purse for long if it has a lot of change in it. Which is a bummer. And I have a low level headache constantly.

Surprisingly I am in pretty good spirits.

LizzyLordsALeaping · 15/12/2009 17:29

MItts, I could happily kickbox the crap out of a few "photos" right now!
Sorry to hear you are not well, but glad you are smiling still.

Am going to escape to get some shopping this evening now DH has been paid.

Have had two potato cakes with cheese on all day. Not hungry at all at the moment.

awastingamanger · 15/12/2009 17:39

I'm getting excited cos DH will be back tonight.

Poor Mitts, sounds rotten. I've started having Spatone, see if it perks me up a bit.

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 15/12/2009 17:57

Was the pomegranate nice Reality? I have never actually eaten one by itself, just in puds and stuff.

How is the no drink and cigs going? Or did you decide to get some practice in?

SqueezinAroundTheXmasTree · 15/12/2009 18:12

PMSL at you two and your kickboxing with 'no questions' It's a buggery time of year, brings out the best and unfortunately the worst in folks. There is no option though except to fight for a fab Christmas and don't let the bastards get you down.

I can get a bit melancholic at this time of year due to family stuff but try to replace it with good stuff, friends, going out etc. Have spent too much time in the past letting it overshadow everything and it's never done an ounce of good.

I may join in with a bit of kickboxing though......but I'll probably have to stop for a fag after 5 minutes if that's alright....

SqueezinAroundTheXmasTree · 15/12/2009 18:13

Wine is a well known antidote for trauma

LizzyLordsALeaping · 15/12/2009 18:14

Me too, Squeezy

May purchase a spot of vino on my travels, good stuff waiting until next week. Have locked it away so I can't get to it.

YanknChristmasCrackers · 15/12/2009 18:39

PB and banana sandwich for breakfast

tuna fishcakes and chips for lunch (in my defense that was better than what I normally have at these pub lunches)

for dinner, caribbean curried lamb in the slow cooker. I used lean lamb steaks instead of the recommended goat's meat/lamb necks in the recipe, and it came out really really well. Didn't seal the meat either, so left out the 3 tbsp of oil!

Going to go tot up my points and see if I managed to stay in my limit today.

YanknChristmasCrackers · 15/12/2009 18:46

oh and I need to confess somewhere, I bought a mattress without telling DH! It's arriving Monday. He will completely freak out, so will not tell him what it cost under any circumstances. If he wants to know, he will have to learn to use his online banking--and he's too impatient for that, happy just to leave it to me!

My hips still aren't right after the SPD during pregnancy, and DH has had 4 spinal surgeries. We've both been sleeping terribly on the mattress left by the previous owners and about 3-4 nights a week one of us ends up deserting our room for the spare room where the double memory foam mattress is. So I've bought one in a king size on his credit card. We've got an interest free deal for a year on that one, so I will jiggle stuff about a bit somehow so we can get it paid off.

SqueezinAroundTheXmasTree · 15/12/2009 18:55

VT - to answer you on the other thread, yep, I like it! Haha, I almost tried looking it up to see what song it was Haven't quite mastered the art of being able to post on a full thread.....

Yank - good for you lady. I got one last April and it's almost paid off now, well worth it, you will sleep like a log and feel a million times better in the mornings. If we waited on men all the time, we'd never get things done

awastingamanger · 15/12/2009 18:55

Sounds sensible Yank. When it's affecting your health, needs must.

SqueezinAroundTheXmasTree · 15/12/2009 18:57

wasting - I take it your DH works away? Will that be him home for Christmas now?

The candle is underway, have been spending far too much time on here really busy but it is on my list

awastingamanger · 15/12/2009 19:03

He sometimes works away yes. Not been this long before though. He's got another two days from tomorrow I think then he's back til Jan from the 19th.

You've been very busy, no worries.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 15/12/2009 19:45

awasting - glad he is hoe for a while after the end of the week.

Shiney - have fun tonight.

Reality - DD does faily impressive projectile voiting aswell. Currently for no reason as demonstrated last night to her babysitter.

LukaSweetBabyJesus · 15/12/2009 19:49

sorry to rudely butt in, just wanted to say hi to Five! Spotted your name in actives - Hello

FiveGoMadInDorset · 15/12/2009 19:56

Hello to you too. I am sure you will be told to feel free and butt in.

SazzlesOnASled · 15/12/2009 20:11

Just had Jacket potato with cottage cheese and beans for dinner. Total yoghurt with honey for dessert - god i am hooked on it

Welcome home to MrWasting - MrSazz is away again so i should really be wrapping his stocking/pressies now

Yank - obviously it is an early Xmas pressie of course for you and DH. I think mattresses are worth spending money on them as you spend so much time asleep. Well i do anyway

Mitts, good to hear you are fighting back against the crap feelings. Hope the cake gives you a boost

Good luck with the pharmacist Shiney - sounds like he has a great sense of humour

DingDongBinaryOnHigh · 15/12/2009 20:21

Evening

I am putting on weight like some kind of lunatic. There is a well-stocked 'Xmas table' at work, and I keep kidding myself that I won't eat all the cherry genoa cake within the first few days.

Date with a pharmacist, Shiney? How fab! How did you meet him? A man with a prescription pad is always useful to have around.
