OK so honest I'm not a wimp (maybe a little) stubbed my little toe about 10 mins ago and it hurt , it is bleeding but hey carried on. Have just sat down and had a look and there is blood behind the name and it seems t have lifted i touched it and it did seem that it was coming away from my toe.

I stopped in case i pulled it off (was sat on the leather sofa) and am wondering if there is anything I can do to stop it from falling off?

OUCH!

your nail, right? (I can sympathise with not being coherent after stubbing your toe - give me childbirth ANY day )

Hmm, I would wrap in a bandage and see how it looks a bit later, when its stopped bleeding....not sure if you can rescue it, though, if it has come away from the nail bed....

VinegarTinselTits · 08/12/2009 11:54

What is your falling?

displayuntiltwelfthnight · 08/12/2009 11:56

agree with TanteRose - put a bandage or dressing round it to keep it together so you don't accidentally pull it off with a sock
I did the same the other week, so you're not alone. Strapped it with a plaster (making sure the sticky bit was nowhere near the nail) and kept putting one on for a few days until it healed.
Hope it sorts out soon.

Wrap it up, put a sock on and ignore it.

This at least is what I did when my big toe nail was only attached at the cuticle, I even went to doc and asked him WTF to do with my flappy nail, and he said leave it, as it had snapped below the cuticle as it 'grew' it woudl just fall off on it's own.
That was fine until DD ran towards me and stubbed my nail with her foot, thus ripping off my nail completely.
The control in not swearing is my proudest moment

It did grow back in quite a cool manner though.

Fucking hurts though, so much sympathy.

Sorry had a problem when trying to post and had to re-do it a couple of times, honest its not the pain, or the blood loss

I'm used to stubbing my toe, but this defo feels and looks different.

Yes my nail looks like it could be coming off. Guess I should be glad its not summer

and don't forget about it when you're in the shower or you'll give yourself a painful reminder when you scrub your toes
my nail pretty much came right off but it knitted into a respectable looking pinky in no time!

MeltedTreeChocolates · 08/12/2009 12:22

It will fall off, nothing you can do. Sorry. Well mine did anyway....

LoveBeingAMummyKissingSanta · 08/12/2009 12:22

display the thought of that makes me feel like vomitting, my toe in the shower not your toe!

lol
you would feel more sick if you didn't heed the toe in shower advice!

your nail might grow back slightly odd-looking but as long as you're not a foot model for those ads on tv for foot creams, you'll be just fine!

dsplay isn't that typical that is just the career i was looking into
