Have namechanged. Excuse the TMI.

My son was born eight years ago, episiotomy and forceps birth. After it had healed up, I was left with a sort of weird flap of skin kind of on my perineum, right at the front of my bum. It's still there now, but today it has swollen up into an incredibly painful red bubble-looking pile thing. i have no idea if it is a pile or a swollen skin-tag but I can barely sit down without yelping. I have tried putting pile ointment on it but it's still hurting and hasnt shrunk back down. This has happened a few times before but it has gone back down much quicker than this. I'm very scared. Can anyone tell me if a) They've had anything similar and b) not to worry?

I know I should go to the docs but I'm really embarrassed.

I can't go today - DH at work and not taking children with me. Never mind, hopefully it'll go away again. Thank you for answering

have you anyone - a friend, family, neighbour - that can have the children whilst you go to an appointment?

obv not tonight, it's too much of a rush

Really you need to see a medic, don't put it off mate, put out feelers and see who can help then make the appointment

If you say it's for a smear no one will bat an eyelid, yes?
