Hi,

DD has a bad chesty cough and temp this morning. She has been sick twice because she coughed so much. She has a runny nose and no appetite poor thing I have no idea if this could be swine flu or not but i am nearly 36 weeks pregnant and had the Pandemrix vaccine a week ago today, would i have some protection if it is swine flu? Or does it take about 9 days to kick in? Thanks

maybe, your immunity won't be complete until three weeks after your jab (I think). But you will have some protection already.

Have you had your dd checked by the doc, or called NHS? Could it be just some other virus?

Hope she feels better soon.

Thanks for replying and for the link, i just had a look. Thanks mumonthenet, I haven't called the doctor because her temp has been ok since about 2pm. She is full of a cold bless her. Im thinking maybe it is just a bad chesty cough/cold afterall. I hope it's not swine flu! Will keep an eye on her.

Thanks

Hi there,

Ds2 (2.7yrs) had very similar symptoms a few weeks, but also had diarrhoea(sp?) Temp was fine during the day, but sky high at night.
Took him to drs who didn't confirm swine flu, but gave him Tamiflu as a precaution. (he's got asthma, and had pneumonia when he was 11mths)
I would ring either your dr or NHS direct and get some advice.

Don't know anything about the vaccine, sorry.

Hope she's feeling better soon - its awful when they're not themselves
