I had a laparotomy with a midline incision 4 months ago. Last week I was bending to pick up dd (13 months) and felt some thing unravel in my lower abdomen. It didn't hurt so I assumed it was my top riding up or something else. Since that time I have had terrible indigestion every time I eat and today I noticed that my stomach was very lumpy (not in an eaten all the pies type of way, just bulgy). I pressed the lumpy bit, which is directly under my scar and it made a bubbly squelchy sound/sensation. So, have I broken my insides or have I just got a weird gut? Help!!!!!

i think in all honesty you need to see a gp rather than have one of us diagnose you in case it is something serious may well not be but you need to be examined by a professional in the flesh to check this and make that decision hope all is well

Yes you're right bubbagirl. I was just wondering whether after such a long time can it actually be possible?!

you could have adhesions or a possible hernia....i would get checked up. Sometimes it takes a long time for all your guts to go back into place after a procedure but if you can feel a lump that wasnt there it sounds like it needs looking at.

I was thinking hernia aly. I'll get myself down to the doctor tomorrow. Cheers!

Also thinking incisional hernia. You need to see your GP tomorrow.

It is indeed a hernia, but not an incisional one. It's due to my dodgy stomach muscles not going back to normal after pregnancy. Cheers for the advice ladies.
