...for our 31st Heathy Eating thread- I can't promise that we aren't re-cycling titles for the thread at this point, and like any sequel it will no doubt be full of inferior lines and piss-poor cinematography (after all, who can beat the links to Terry Wogan? Oops), but we are all here and welcome any newcomers who want to join in the frenzy and hilarity that are the Shiney threads, named for our glorious leader

We chat, support, and shout at each other in varying amounts, and try to stay on the straight and narrow for health, weight-loss or both. Join in, and have fun- it's cheaper than weightwatchers, and there are rude jokes and bargain shopping codes too- what more could you ask for?

Oh VT, You are such a lovely Mum, and I understand you feling bad, but you are NOT bad. Exhaustion is cruel and sometimes everything just gets too much. I really feel for you because it does feel crap however you got to the point of feeling like that.

A big cuddle and some Mummy time will make you both feel so much better. I always apologise if I have crossed my line and explaing what in particular made me so cross.

VinegarTits · 01/12/2009 13:10

Thanks guys, i did say sorry to him after i calmed down and we had a little cuddle in bed

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 01/12/2009 13:11

My next door neighbours cat hates me.

I clap my hands at her to stop her from going near rhe road and now if she sees me anywhere, she freezes and narrows her eyes.

I am not a big lover of kids pets though. They are far too much hard work.

BitOfFun · 01/12/2009 13:12

Or just come round to mine Vinny, when i take delivery of what is essentially a padded cell, albeit in cheery colours- that should sort us out

OP posts:
VinegarTits · 01/12/2009 13:13

i am serverly allergic to cats, they dont agree with me at all

VinegarTits · 01/12/2009 13:15

Bof we would be able to get pissed in it and not injure ourselves

TrillianAstra · 01/12/2009 13:17

I like cats.

Are you done with your love-in?

Padded cell sounds awesome BoF - every child should have one. Who gets to choose the colours?

BitOfFun · 01/12/2009 13:17

Me too- I start wheezing and sneezing and can't breathe if they come near me. The effects are proximity to children are more, er, psychologically stressful

We had all the pets when DS was young, but when I was pregnant with DD I worked in a house where there was Dog Hair EVERYWHERE. In the sugar bowl, the cups when you made a drink and I have never recovered. We had a cat at the time who was allergic to fleas and she was covered in scabs and used to leave tufts everywhere, I am afraid that clinched it for me.

wastingaway · 01/12/2009 13:45

I'd love a cat someday, but am v. allergic too. I start wheezing if I sit next to someone who owns a cat for any length of time.

I am in awe of you Mums looking after dc with sn. I don't think there's a bad Mum on this thread.

TrillianAstra · 01/12/2009 13:50

I'm definitely not a bad Mum

wastingaway · 01/12/2009 13:52

100% not.

SparklyAlice · 01/12/2009 15:44

Hello ladies

I thought you might be interested in one of the things i learnt on my course (or you may just think i'm a twat) 'There is no such thing as perfect parenting, just good enough parenting' As in 'good enough' is all we should aim for and if we manage most of the time then we are doing a damn good job

Reading all of your posts has really put into perspective my car troubles. The latest update is that it would cost £2300 to repair, so we are getting rid of it. Still have to pay £650 of repairs already done, but have to get a new car

DidEinsteinsMum · 01/12/2009 16:37

thats bad news about the car alice.

I am about ready to kill ds it is christmas fair tonight and i am taking him it will be in the buggy which will be for him as his friends from school will be about but if i dont there will be murder. He is in the bath with his head under the water line having had his hair cut by the barbar who put sticky stuff in it to spike it. CHANGE IS NOT ALLOWED! Cancel christmas, BoF I WANT A PADED CELL TOO!

SparklyAlice · 01/12/2009 16:50

Some not quite ready sloe gin do you DEM?

DidEinsteinsMum · 01/12/2009 17:08

Right now moon shine might be more like it.
Escaped to eat tea with ds left in the red corner. on full warnings that one more and the only way he will go to the fair is in a buggy which will him as his friends from school will see him. He is happily and quietly in front of scooby doo. i am hiding in the bedroom.

Kids are great arent they .

at leasti had the satification of tramatising year 7 today

IS the CD-rom any good? have a load more you are welcome to if it is. Glad someone enjoys it, it was a bit wasted here and ds grew out of dora decades ago now ... or at least that is how it feels

Hvae you survived your day with the tots?

DidEinsteinsMum · 01/12/2009 17:42

Are we having christmas names about here?

if so have you thought of any good ones yet?

Lizzylou · 01/12/2009 17:50

I was wondering about Christmas names, but I can't think of one for me, so may just be a Bah humbug

Off swimming tonight, but don't really feel like it, it's sooo cold

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 01/12/2009 17:51

I thought of KissingUnderTheMittsletoe! or something like.

You are right about the parenting thing, Alice but slamming a frying pan so hard down on a working surface that it buckles and bends the handle, falls short of even 'good enough'..

I asked DS to go to his Dad's to do his homework because I can't bear the thought of another night of stress about it.When they get on they are great together so I am selfishly hoping tonight will be one of those nights.
And I am not at KBoxing because I am really not well.

DD and I are having a lovely evening, which she deserves because she gets it quite badly. We are eating whatever we want, watching Hannah Montanna, dancing, and singing her nativity songs.

Lizzylou · 01/12/2009 17:52

May not be swimming, we are in the "be prepared" orange bit of the severe weather warning for snow!!!!
Am a bit overexcited now.
