I have name changed because I am I have got a very sore small lump in the crease between my inner and out labia.

It seems to have appeared out of nowhere.

Could it be a varicous vein? Do they give you small hard lumps? If it could be what can they do to treat it?

It is painful all the time without even touching it.

Sex is out of the question at the moment! I will be making a drs appointment but won't be for a while just wanting ideas.

Thank you

It sounds like a bartholin cyst

Pineapplechunks · 27/11/2009 11:03

Could it be an infected hair follicle? (or am I in the wrong place anatomically?)

ChangedMyMind · 27/11/2009 11:08

the thought of having to let someone poke around down there, far worse than during childbirth IMO.

It's on the smooth skin, so unlikely to be a hair follicle and it's hard to look properly even with a mirror!

bet you a tenner it's a spot

hot bath and hope it pops

Pineapplechunks · 27/11/2009 11:23

It's not how you might want to spend your afternoon, with your fanjo out at the Dr's, who does? It's not exactly a laugh a minute is it? But it's got to be better than the pain and discomfort you are in now?

Your examination won't take more than about 5 minutes and then you'll be able to get diagnosed, get treatment and get sorted.

Keep focused on that thought and it won't be that bad.

Good luck

morningpaper · 27/11/2009 11:24

I reckon it's a spot

does it have a head

hot bath and a small squeeze

CMOTdibbler · 27/11/2009 11:24

It'll be a spot. I get them and tho they are incredibly painful, they pop quickly in a hot bath once ready

ChangedMyMind · 27/11/2009 11:29

no signs of a head or a spot just generally looking inflammed and red can only feel it's a hardish lump IYSWIM.

I hate baths but will have some over the weekend whilst waiting for a drs appointment. I also have some cream for a resurring spot I had in my nose so will dollop some on for good measure.

Will now book appointment and laugh at how long I have to wait for one!

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 27/11/2009 11:38

no no no, do not put spot cream on it!

SausageRocket · 27/11/2009 12:11

yy to hot bath.

No one warns you about the indignity of fanny zits when you are a flawless yoof.

SausageRocket · 27/11/2009 12:13

If you can't stomach bath then apply a hot flannel/washcloth to it for a bit a couple of times a day, that should bring it to a head (gak)

It's probably some sort of boily yoke

TheChewyToffeeMum · 27/11/2009 12:15

Sounds like Bartholins cyst as above. If it is small it might go away on it's own with hot bath but if getting sorer or bigger get thee an urgent gynae referral and they will sort it for you.

ChangedMyMind · 27/11/2009 12:22

okay will do hot flannels over the weekend as much as possible.

Have by some miracle got a drs appt for Monday morning so unless it def turns into spot will go then. It really doesn't look anything like a spot at the moment plus I keep getting little glands up on my head that take weeks to go......

booboobeedoo · 27/11/2009 12:24

is your gait a wide-legged swagger?! - i just clicked on the link and that is one symptom of the bartholins cyst (BOAK)

sounds like a spot to me.

ChangedMyMind · 27/11/2009 12:38

I hope it is just a spot and that it does something over the weekend!

OP posts:
SausageRocket · 27/11/2009 12:41

well yes, no need to go exposing yourself if you don't absolutely have to

Have a good look just now under natural daylight. It seems pellet shaped so really unlikely to be a spot

I'm not sure I can leave it go "eventually" it hurts sitting and I don't want to lead a life of abstinance (I'm sure dh doesn't want to either!)

yes on Mon morning. It woke me up during the night, I'm not worried it's something sinister it just really throbs.

I can't work out where the gland is according to that link (too many long words and no diagrams!) but perhaps it's something to do with the actual gland.

You will all be disappointed if it's just a spot

OP posts:
ChangedMyMind · 27/11/2009 13:24

actually if you go anywhere near it it become itchy - not sound spot like is it!

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 27/11/2009 13:50

oh it is itchy? [whispers] herpes?

[runs]

ChangedMyMind · 27/11/2009 14:12

really really hope not!!!! Visited a GUM clinic nearly 8 years ago and they never found anything at all and I've had the same partner for the last 10 years, so very unlikely (I hope)
