what to take when bunged up?

Cant be bothered to name change - sod it

I am really bunged up, often - and I need to take some thing?

What do trusted MN'ers recommend?

I dont want to start loosing control over my bowels though my dears - that has been my fear before and I have never used any thing

sprinkle linseed over your cereal in the mornings. it doesn't taste too bad and really works (well, it did for me, anyway!) Good luck

2 oatabix in the morning, every morning and I promise you, you won't have a problem!!!

Also, plenty of fluids throughout the day, not too much tea or coffee or they will dehydrate you and cause constipation.

Give yourself time to go to the loo every day. Often we put it off and that contributes to being bunged up.

Fruit, lots of it and when you are back to being a once a day girl keep up your fluids and try a glass of Apple juice with your breakfast every day.

dried apricots and prunes work for me, I've heard other people recommend a cup of hot water with lemon juice squeezed in it in the mornings. HTH

onefartyberry, to get your bum clear asap try glycerine suppositories, my mum swears by them! Then try to figure out why you get bunged up so much, and then try to prevent it rather than cure it!

Put some linseeds in a little bowl, cover with cold water, put a lid on a keep in fridge. Put a table spoon on your cereal every morning and if you can stomach it, have another spoonful in the evening in hot water and drink it. As someone who knows all about constipation, trust me it works!

Psylium husks (health food store), have a tablespoon full in a small glass of water then drink more water. Drink strait away or it turns into a weird wall paper paste type consistency. Works wonders, safe when pregnant too. It's a bulking agent rather than laxative.

Also if you can find them aloe vera crystals, but don't take these if you're pregnant. They taste revolting and you only taking a very small amount (size of match head).

drugs- syrup of figs- will work overnight, but is quite-um-'effective' IYKWIM.

Or glycerin suppositories will unbung within half an hour or so.

eat a slice of fresh pineapple every day,its a naural laxative and it works in an hour after eating it. Well it did when i ate half.

micralax laxative . It works really really quickly,if you want drugs.
