Quick! Help is this a broken nose?

DD (17) smashed her nose into her chest of drawers. It has a lump on it and hurts like hell. She is currently holding an ice pack on it. how can we tell if it's broken? Please don't send me to A and E. But obviously I'll take her if I have to.

well if it's very swollen you probably can't tell.
