Kidney problems, enlarged Kidney?

Hi, i posted a few days ago about ongoing UTI's and kidney infection.

I have had a infection since before last week and have had 2 doses of antibiotics, today i went back to the GP who conformed the infection had got worse (blood in my urine), he mentioned that it could be a enlarged Kidney causing the infections but was more worried about the blood in my urine rather than treating the infection.

I have had bloods taken today and a urine sample sent off to be tested and may have to go for a scan in the next couple of days.

I googled 'enlarged kidneys' (which was a mistake) and all my symptoms fit the diagnosis.

Does anyone else on MN suffer from this and how is it treated?

I'm so worried and i feel so ill, i should get the blood and urine results tomorrow and it may be nothing but i can't help worrying .

I don't have an enlarged kidney but I have had two nasty kidney infections, one of which progressed to septicaemia. Felt ill for quite a while. But had ultrasound tests and apart from having a duplex kidney on one side nothing at all is wrong with my kidneys.

The urologist I saw (went private as was so worried) told me that a kidney infection can take 6 weeks to recover from.

I also get UTIs
So just wanted to say that although it is miserable, it doesn't necessarily mean there is anything seriously wrong.
Hope you feel better soon

Thank you, i had a similar UTI a few months ago (same symptoms) and was sent for a scan to check for stones, all came back clear and the infection cleared up with one course of antibiotics.

Hopefully this one will clear up and they won't find anything wrong.
