i have made an appointment for him tomorrow with the G.P, just wonering if anyone knows anything about this??

He is 14 and it's only just started happening, could it be because of his growth?? It looks very odd when he has no top on, and really noticeable, he is in no pain though.

What could it be??

bless him, glad you've got a gp appointment and hope it goes well. On his chest or on his back? does his spine look straight?

DS1 is 11, he has a funny lump right at the bottom of his ribcage, on one side. He too looks very peculiar. He's always had it to some degree though. Should I take him to the docs?

its on his chest/sternum i think..it's like his sternum is sinking in and ribs are poking out..kind of...a bit strange.

Beth..i wouldn't be too worried if he's always had it, just keep an eye on it. I will let you know what gp says tomorrow.

is it an extra rib...my bother had an extra one which stuck out and his chest was slightly concave too.

Defo straight to docs. I had similar in clavicle at 15. Docs were mystified and had to biopsy turns out I had a bone infection called osteomyelitis. Was on antibiotics for months. Thing is funny bone lumps can rarely be bone cancer and unfortunately prognosis is v. Poor for that so you defo want him checked out.
